Men's vitamins: how to choose one without being codded

Six checks for choosing a men's supplement

1. The full ingredient list and the dose per capsule. Without doses you cannot compare products or know whether the amount reaches what the authorised claims require.
2. An identifiable company: registered name, company number, address and a real contact.
3. Claims within the law. In the EU only those on the EU register count. Be wary of "potency", "virility" and "boosts testosterone".
4. Clear guarantee terms: the length, any minimum period of use, and who pays for the return.
5. The price per month of use, not per box, and without the pressure of a countdown.
6. A word beforehand with your GP or pharmacist if you take medication or have a health condition.

Elvra against these checks

The pharmacy counter or an online seller?

A pharmacist can check interactions with your tablets and explain a label to you face to face. A foreign online seller often gives you fewer reference points, so it is up to you to ask what the counter would tell you straight away: who makes it, what the doses are and who answers if something goes wrong. Supplements on the same shelf do not all do the same job (fertility, prostate, energy), so only compare products with the same purpose.
